I run the Jardine, took the spacer out and dialed out the carb screw at the same time. If I was going to do it over, I would have adjusted the screw first, seen if I got what I wanted, and if not, then attacked the spacer. I had major backfiring (think rifle shots) before the adjustments, and minimal now. Since I like how it runs now, I'm leaving the spacer out. Either way, these adjustments are easy and reversible.
